Rock, Paper, Scissors

I recently collaborated with Stylist Anna Sheridan on this graphic and playful interpretation of the centuries old game, “Rock, Paper, Scissors”.

Anna went the extra mile(s) sourcing the props for this project, the rocks in particular, getting pulled over by customs in Belfast Airport with questions about her strange cargo…

New Work - Precious Things

With this work I wanted to contrast delicate and precious things, such as these flowers, with harder textures and surfaces like Slate and Marble (both also delicate, in a different way).

I encased the flowers, some cut in cross section, wthin 2 watch glasses, to both frame the flowers, and also further enhance the vulnerability and precious nature of these precious things.

New Work: Rorschach Bubbles

What can you see going on with this bubbly compositions?! I used High Speed flash, coloured gels, a water tank, and loads and loads of water to make these.  I hope you enjoy them!

New Work: Suntory Hibiki and Zubrowka

I was inspired to shoot these by the long shadows of late summer evenings. I first tasted Japanese whisky on a trip to Japan late last year, and Zubrowka vodka is one of my favourite spirits, served ice cold, with apple juice.  Known by some in the UK as a “frisky bison”, or in Poland as a Szarlotka (Apple Pie).

WIRED / Umbrella Test

I photographed features writer Jim Hill this months Wired Magazine, testing umbrella's for their Gear section.

We shot at AGOG SFX in oxfordshire, where they laid on plenty of wind and rain for us, although nature helped out with the rainy part in the end.  Gold ol' English weather!
